A professional, personalised and friendly service for children in Kent & Essex who have speech, language and communication difficulties, and their families. One aim - to empower and enable children to be the best communicators that they can be...and have fun in the process!

Nicola Kimmance BSc Hons, MRCSLT, MHPC Independent Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist

I aim to provide a personal and professional service for children and their families where advice and support is required in regard to speech, language and communication development. Children are assessed in the familiar environment of their own home, or educational setting in close consultation with their parents.

I feel very strongly about working closely with parents to empower and equip them to support their child’s development at home.  I also recognise the importance of looking at the bigger picture when assessing a child’s needs and this will usually involve liaison with other key people in their lives, such as school/preschool personnel and NHS staff.

My ethos for assessment and therapy is that, in order for a child to engage in the process, it has to be fun! Therefore, play is often used as a medium for delivering support and gathering assessment information. For children to be able to work effectively on skills that they find a struggle , they need to feel at ease, motivated and encouraged to succeed.

If you would like any more information about the services I offer or to discuss your child’s needs in more detail, then please do not hesitate to contact me. Please also get in touch if you would like more information about the training courses that are available for parents and professionals.
